Shane McLean – As the Managing Director of Preferred Solutions Eastern Cape, Shane Mclean leads our team with a focus on delivering robust business management and accounting solutions. With deep expertise in ERP systems, specifically Sage 200 Evolution and SQL database management, Shane combines high-level technical consultancy with strategic business insight. Under his leadership, Preferred Solutions continues to set the benchmark for excellence in the Eastern Cape, ensuring that our clients benefit from software integration that is as innovative as it is reliable.
Helen Mclean
Helen McLean has been instrumental in the evolution of the business, guiding its transition from HH Accounting, established in 1990, into what is now Preferred Solutions. As a registered Tax Practitioner, she possesses extensive, in-depth knowledge across all the products supported by the company. While her core strengths lie in systems design, troubleshooting, data correction, and payroll integrations, she continues to provide invaluable support as the company grows. In addition, Helen leads the PaySpace Payroll team, ensuring that clients receive expert guidance across modern, cloud-based payroll solution.
Suzan du Randt
Suzan brings over 30 years of hands-on experience with Sage Pastel Accounting and Payroll, providing her with unique foresight into client needs and the ability to align those needs with powerful Sage functionality. As a registered Tax Practitioner, Sue is qualified to assist clients at an advanced level with Management Accounts, VAT compliance, and Easyfile submissions. Leading the Partner Division, Sue is supported by a strong team, ensuring that every client receives expert guidance and practical solutions, all underscored by her motto: “The clients’ needs always come FIRST”.
Charné Bredell
Charne has been part of Preferred Solutions since 2016, progressing from her initial role as a Receptionist into a vital member of the Payroll Division. Today, she manages a diverse range of responsibilities, including in-house payroll processing, payroll consulting, and SARS EMP501 submissions. Beyond her payroll expertise, Charne oversees critical administrative functions such as monthly invoicing, stationery sales, and debtors’ management. Her growth within the company and her commitment to professional excellence make her an essential part of the Preferred Solutions team.
Zhané Mackenzie
Zhane is a dedicated Payroll Consultant who guides businesses through a seamless transition to PaySpace Payroll by delivering professional, end-to-end implementation and support services. She specializes in critical areas such as company setup, payroll data transfers, and client training, ensuring a hassle-free transition for every client. With a friendly, customer-centric approach, Zhane provides streamlined payroll solutions that empower businesses to maximize the full benefits and capabilities of the PaySpace platform.

As Head of People and Brand Experience, Chantal Coley’s role is rooted in the belief that great people create great experiences. She is focused on shaping a culture within Preferred Solutions where every team member feels genuinely seen, valued, and empowered to perform at their best. Chantal understands that this internal culture directly influences how relationships are built, ultimately defining what customers experience and remember about the Preferred Solutions brand.
Carmelita Pienaar
Carmelita joined the Preferred Solutions team in 2023, where she is a key member of the PaySpace division focusing on payroll and client support. Her responsibilities include the critical submission of EMP501 Reconciliations and IRP5s on an annual and bi-annual basis. Her attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy ensure that clients remain compliant and well-supported in their financial operations.
Tammy van Niekerk
Tammy has been a dedicated member of the Preferred Solutions team since 2009. As part of the Partner division, she specializes in the end-to-end processing of client payrolls and plays an active role in the team responsible for annual and bi-annual EMP501 Reconciliations and IRP5 submissions. With years of experience, Tammy is a trusted resource for clients, ready to assist with all payroll queries and operational requirements.
Clemine Smit
Clemine is a core member of the team specializing in the implementation and support of Sage 200 Evolution. With a technical financial accounting qualification and a professional background as a SQL data analyst, she offers a comprehensive service that includes new installations, historic data imports, and custom report writing. Clemine’s ability to interpret and model data allows her to provide advanced solutions in system automation, reporting, and financial reconciliations, making her an invaluable technical asset to our clients.
Chumani Bangani
Chumani is a highly skilled and fully certified Sage Evolution Software Consultant. He possesses deep expertise across the entire Sage 200 Evolution ecosystem, providing seamless support and guidance to our clients. Beyond standard support, Chumani excels in the complex technical aspects of the software, including end-to-end project database design, bespoke training, and full-scale system implementation. His ability to navigate and optimize all Sage 200 modules makes him an invaluable asset to our team and a trusted advisor to our clients.

Sean has been a cornerstone of our team since 2018, serving as a Specialized Consultant with command over a vast software ecosystem. His expertise spans Sage 200, Sage Partner, Sage Payroll, and PaySpace, with a specific focus on optimizing ESS (Employee Self Service) workflows. Sean is a technical powerhouse; he leads complex system migrations, performing precise data imports and engineering custom SQL queries to resolve intricate data challenges. Wade is our dedicated Sage Support Technician, specializing in the robust maintenance of your accounting environment. His expertise encompasses full-cycle software installations, seamless version upgrades, and advanced error troubleshooting across Sage Pastel and Sage Payroll. Beyond his technical support role, Wade serves as our resident forms design expert. Leeann is a vital member of our Accounting Department, where she manages the critical processing of annual financial data. From reconciling complex customer and supplier invoices to managing bank statements and petty cash, she ensures that every transaction is captured with absolute precision. Her work is defined by a strict adherence to structured procedures, which maintains the integrity of our monthly workflows and ensures consistent compliance with legislative requirements and accounting standards. Melissa joined the team in 2022 and specializes in the full-cycle implementation of Sage 200 Evolution for medium to large businesses, managing projects from concept to completion. She is fully certified across various Sage products and leverages a strong technical foundation gained from her extensive experience in Sage Partner support environments. Beyond implementation, Melissa provides ongoing support, including troubleshooting, user assistance, and data integrity fixes, all aimed at ensuring efficient and effective system performance.
Nolan Mutata
Nolan is a Chartered Certified Accountant and lead consultant, specializing in Sage Business Cloud implementation and training. He strengthens our clients’ financial operations by pairing technical accounting expertise with a strong business partnering approach. With deep expertise in IFRS financial reporting, management reporting, and internal controls, Nolan works closely with businesses to optimize processes and enhance reporting accuracy. Additionally, he provides expert support in year-end procedures, external audit preparation, VAT compliance, and regulatory alignment—delivering practical, value-driven solutions that empower businesses to improve performance and achieve sustainable growth.
